Bike Commute

In an effort to continue to loose some weight - which I have.  I did a lot of commuting on my bike this summer.  It was a lot of fun and I have to admit I have an ideal bike commute (17 miles, mostly on paved trails).  One thing that makes it worthwhile is that I have an ideal commuting bike and I travel very light.  My bike is actually a road racing bike with Ultegra and Dura-Ace components.  It is SO EASY TO PEDAL!  It seems like I can pedal three or four times and coast for a mile.  However, "spinning" on the commute is ideal.  I love video and decided to video one of my rides home:

Unfortunately, the camera I was using was new to me so it kept drooping and cutting out the sky. I ended up using a video camera on most of my commutes this summer in hopes of seeing a moose or bear (I usually see a lot of moose and a few bear on my rides).  Unfortunately, so far this year, I have seen very little wildlife on my rides.  However, I decided to edit together another video, sans drooping, and made it even shorter and can be found here:

Both videos look a little choppy in their default mode - however, they are filmed in HD and if you select 720P in the lower right corner of the video they look a little better.

Wilmington, North Carolina!!! Now back to bizz-ness.

We have a winner!  FINALLY! Had a few guesses but participant #17 got it right.  The answer to the location of the background photo is Wilmington, North Carolina where quite a few movies and TV shows have been filmed.  And a lot were being filed when I was there last year.

Here are the results for this weeks battle.

"There is no spoon"

Well - sorry for the late post.  I upgraded the graphics card in my compy and that set off a chain of unwanted events that have not been taken care of at this time.  As they say in my old country:
"Dont oredan med din dator - bara stanna i sängen hela dagen och titta på tvåloperor. OH ya, förresten, det finns ingen sked. Och få i redskap med The Big fränare späck slaget!"

Any guesses to last weeks question???  Anyone?  Anyone?? Bueller???
Clue #2 - the photo was taken on a movie set where many movies have been filmed...

So thanks to the miracle of the IPad.  Here is an abbreviated version of this weeks results.  I did not get many reports - I hope people are not giving up.
  • #2  182
  • #4  266
  • #9  142
  • #10 172
  • #11 205
  • #17 160
Please! Please! Please!  Next week remember the True Meaning of Monday!  (B4)

"OK - so I can only stay up late and play Warcraft for so long - then I just get too tired..."

Before I post this weeks results I want to remind everyone that March 21 will be our last weigh in.  Still time to melt away those blubs.  And, it looks like the competition is really changing around... Also, I am sure you all have noticed the blog background change - Tundra Bob took the background photo (clue #1) - guess where it is at???  Clue #2 is in the labels section.  If no one gets it this week - more clues to come next week.

So, let me pause, leveling my Mage (Quinquaginta on the Earthen Ring Server) and check the e mail one more time.  OK, I'm back - an e mail from Nigeria and an ad for Depends is all there was.  So here are this weeks results:

April Fools!

Here are this weeks results:

Ooops! Sorry - this is our NBA fantasy league...  See what happens when I wait around for all the e mails???  I am still waiting for four more reports... Got to go to bed soon...
